How to use (#s)īe civil. It is on the back side of the saya, so when resting on a katana stand it is not visible.A subreddit for enthusiasts, practitioners, collectors, and investigators of swords (and related historical weapons). It's very small, and I think I could have sold it without it being a huge deal to the buyer, but since I am known for outright frank honesty, I am mentioning it and taking a picture of it. The average is $35 - $45 for parts of Europe.'s a photo of the bump as I promised. I have never sent a sword for more than $50 though. I have sent swords to nearly 20 different countries and they all vary greatly in price. ![]() However you need to email me for a shipping quote as different locations vary. I always forget to include that with my sales pitch. The cost of insurance will vary due to the final selling price. Insurance is extra, and very highly reccommended for this item. Priority mail shipping is $18 through USPS. ![]() Recently the US Post Office has increased shipping prices. The suguha (straight) hamon is a beautiful and practical choice for a blade like this. showthread.php?t=255 And is better pictures of the superb polish. I did a full review of the blade on the link below. I wanted to list this sword with a buy it now of $900, but cut it down because of the bump. Sorry, I don't have a picture of it, I'll try to get one soon. It isn't very big, I filled the bump with epoxy and lacquered over the entire gloss part of the saya. T is one flaw on the sword, and that is a bump on the backside of the saya. I had some brass ones on, but the tsuba kept loosening, so I placed the original copper ones back on. A lot of times samurai had rayskin replaced node by node on their tukas, and sometimes things like abalone shells are carved to look like rayskin and used instead. The node wasn't dead center thanks to a miscalculation in cutting the panel, so I pried it off and recentered it. The tsuka has had the rayskin replaced with a high quality greyish blue silk, the sageo is a golden color (and the exact opposite in the color spectrum which is why it matches so well) and the rayskin on the tsuka was replaced with high quality panels with an emperor node. The blade measured 28 inches long, the tsuka 10.5. This produces a beautiful hamon and hada that resembles very closely the look that many antique nihonto have. However I decided to repolish the entire blade by starting with my usual hybrid methods using high grit automotive sand paper, metal polishing abrasives, and then a finishing polish using Japanese jizuya and hazuya stones. The Bushi line are not acid enhanced, so the hamon is faint. Bugei and Paul Chen katanas have nicer koshirae, but Dynasty Forge have nicer blades themselves. The Bushi class swords are made of beautiful forge folded steel, and the quality of the blade geometry is much better than Paul Chen / Hanwei or even Bugei. Dynasty Forge produces, in my opinion, the best blades in the production market. SWEET! It is a graceful style that mixes a katana, a naginata, and a double edge similar to a Chinese Jian or a European broadsword. What's the big deal you say? A double edged katana. It sells at Dynasty Forge's website for $739. I have a Dynasty Forge Kogarasu maru katana for sale. Dynasty Forge Bushi class Kogarasu Maru katana!
